The 2019 Great Schools Clean Streams Pledge Contest Winners
This year’s Great Schools, Clean Streams campaign collected a record-breaking 16,412 pledges from New Castle County parents, students and community members!
Thanks to your participation more people than ever before made the commitment to collect their kitchen grease, fats and oils in a can and throw it in the trash. That simple pledge will help us reduce harmful and costly sewer system overflows that can pollute our streams. We estimate that the collective impact of these pledges could result in more than 3 million pounds of cooking fats, grease and oils that will be diverted out of our sewer system.
